Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Tufts University. During AY 2024-25 I am a Visiting Research Scholar at Stanford’s Center for International Security & Cooperation (CISAC). In my research I examine the domestic sources of interstate crisis behavior, expanding on existing theories of democratic accountability and political representation in relation to leader decision making and crisis signaling. My work has been supported by the Stanton Foundation and Yale University’s MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies among others. I received my PhD in Political Science from Yale in 2022. I grew up in Islamabad, Pakistan. I can be reached at fahd.humayun@tufts.edu and you can follow me on X.
